ABSTRACT

Two trials were carried out to evaluate the nutritive potential of fermented and unfermented cocoyam corm meal (Xanllwsorna Sagittifolium) for broiler chicken diets. The trials were carried out using Completely Randomized Design (CR1)). Each trial had three treatments and three Replicates with 24 birds per treatment and birds per replicate. The result showed that significant (P0.05) but numerically birds fed diet 5 gave the highest savings (N359.43), followed closely by birds fed diet 6 (N339.93). It was therefore concluded that substituting maize with cocoyam corn meal (Xanihosorna Sagittifolium) in the diet of broiler chickens at 15% and 30% inclusion reduces cost, thereby increasing producers' revenue.
