ABSTRACT t x This study evaluated Phytochemical Contents and antimicrobial activities of ethanol extract of neem leaf plant {Azadirachta indica). The antimicrobial activities of the extracts was carried out using agar well diffusion. The result of the phytochemical test showed that tannin, phenol, alkaloids, flavonoids and saponin were present in the leaf extracts of A. indica at varying degrees. The quantitative analysis showed that tannin content of the extracts ranged from 5.58 - 11.83%. The phenol, alkaloids, flavonoids and saponin content. The antimicrobial study showed that the zone of inhibition of ethanolic leaf (500mg/ml) extract was; 17mm {Salmonella typhi) and 19mm {Staphylococcus saureus). The zone of inhibition obtained for ethanolic stem extract (500mg/ml) were; 9mm (S. typhi) and 9.5mm (S. aureus), while the inhibition zone obtained for crude extract (205mg/ml) were; 9.5mm {Candida albicans), 12.5mm {Eshcerichia coli), 11.5mm (S. typhi), 13mm (5. aureus) and 10.5mm {Proteus vulgaris). The control (Gentamicin and ketoconazole) had inhibition greater than 31mm against all the test organisms respectively. The extracts however, showed varying minimum inhibitory concentration against all the test organisms.
