ABSTRACT x Eugenia uniflora is an edible fruit which belong to the family myrtaceae (Morton. 1987). Eugenia uniflora have therapeutic significance and have been used as effective traditional medicine in treatment of anti-hypertensive etc. In this study, the hepatoprotective, antioxidant and hacmopoeitic potentails of Eugenia uniflora was studied. The invitro antioxidant method of DPPH, Anti-lipid peroxidation and Nitric oxide inhibition was determined using the method described by Jaiswo/ et al 201 l,Mensor et al 2001 and Dinakaran et <7/2011 respectively. The three methods indicated that the seed extract showed significant antioxidant activity at the highest concentration (200mg/ml) giving antioxidant activity of 88.92 +_3.57, 85.94 + 7.04 and 70+ 1.81 respectively. The standard drug (vitamin C ) lOOmg/ml gave antioxidant activity of 97.67 +_0.84, 99.04 + 0.25 and 98.14 +_0.3 respectively. Thus the antioxidant activity of the seed extract is comparable to that of vitamin C. In the hepatoprotective activity of the study, the positive control group which received standard ding (5g) had the smallest value on liver enzymes 17.9 ±_0.42, 5.15 +_0.5, 9.8 +_0.57 and 9.45 +_0.5 respectively while the group that received the normal saline had the highest value of 48+_0.57, 13 4^1.41, 26.2 +_1.13 and 22.95 +0.07 respectively followed by the group that received 162.5 mg/kg ofthe extract of the value 41.55 + .1.3, 12+_0.28, 20jL0.28 and 19.5+0.7 respectively. Thus the effect of the seed extract on the liver enzymes activity is significantly and dose dependently higher (P<0.05) in the animals that were given the extract when compared with the standard drug
