Evaluation Of Effect Of Budgeting And Budgetary Control Measures On Expenditure Of Federal Universities In Nigeria (A Study Of Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria)

ABSTRACT

This study is centered on evaluation of effect of budgeting and budgetary control measures on expenditure of federal universities in Nigeria. The board objective was to ascertain the evaluation of effect of budgeting and budgetary control measures expenditure of federal universities. Data were gotten by the use of questionnaires and secondary data were gotten from budget and control expenditure of Michael Okpara Universities of Agriculture Umudike. the data collected were analyzed using statistical tools such as percentages, frequency, distribution tables and correlation coefficient.(z-test).the result of the analyses showed that there is a significant relationship between capital expenditure budget and capital expenditure actual at 0.01 level of significant and also there is significant relationship between revenue expenditure budget and revenue expenditure actual at 0.05 level of significance. Therefore the researcher suggested that government should release funds earlier enough for federal universities to carry out their activities effectively.
