Estimating The Parameter Of A Distributed Lag Model Of A Cross- Sectional Data: A Case Study Of University Admission And Graduation, Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State.

ABSTRACT

 The purpose of this project work is to determine the trend of students admitted and graduated students and also to determine the linear relationship between the two variables. Hence, relevant literature review is examined regarding the title. The statistical data used for the analysis was purely from secondary source. The research analysis use involves correlation coefficient. Moving average method and least square method of time series analysis. In correlation coefficient it shows no good linear relationship between the admission and graduation as (r=O.1621). Therefore the data was too poor from the university. Thus, the use of time series and moving average method clearly shows a rapidly increment of both admitted and graduating students of the university. Though, some positive recommendation has been put forward by the researcher and as requirements on how to improve the well-being (situation). The Federal Government, NUC, ETF and World Bank assisted agency should ensure the provision of more lecture halls, provision of more hostels accommodation provision of more libraries and increase its staff to meet up with the increasingly number of students in the university.
