Effects of risk asset management on the financial performance of listed banks in Nigeria.:- Nzang Yvette M

ABSTRACT

This study examined the effect of risk Asset Management on financial performance of commercial banks in Nigeria. It does not only have greater impact on bank performance but also on Nigerian financial institutions, industrial and economic growth. The bank motivation for risk management comes from those risks which can lead to underperformance. This study employed secondary data source which based on 18 years progressive annual reports and oumals publications and all commercial banks in Nigeria (22). This study employed the ordinary least sequare technique and multiple regression model. The result implies an inverse relationship between financial performance of banks, liquidity ratio and cash holding ratio and cash flow from operation. The study concludes a significant relationship between banks performance and risk management and therefore recommended that commercial banks should maintain a high quality ratio as this will give room for them to have access to readily cash which may enhance their business transactions and increase their performance.
