ABSTRACT


We consider personal management factors that affect both the manger and

employees of a firm. These factors are the reflection of the personal practices on

the workers of the firms. Aba which is the commercial city of Abia Stale was

chosen as the study area uses to the high presence of small and medium scale

enterprise in the study area. The sample was divided into managers and employees

for us to be able to ascertain the effect of personnel management factors on the

managers and employees of the beverage firms. The specific objectives of other

study include to determine the socio-economic characteristics of the enterprise, to

determine the type of reward used by the firms, to (letermine the factors affecting

employee productivity and to determine the relationship between reward employee

performance the factors found to be affecting work incentives, work environiient,

wage, training and interpersonal relationship were lound to be the factors atThcting

productivity of the managers and employees. In order to achieve the above

objectives likert scale was used the result of the spearman correlation shows a

strong positive relationship between reward and productivity of the enterprises.
