ABSTRACT

Management principles and concepts have been of immense importance in the activities of source scale enterprises. This study therefore is an extensive investigation into the effect of management in the performance of small scale enterprises in Abia state. In the research process, 80 was adopted as the sample size which was computed from a population of 100 for the study. Primary data was analyzed using simple percentages after they were collected using questionnaire. Correlation was used to test the study hypothesis to generate findings for the study. The study concluded that though management has not really impacted in the development of small scale enterprises, it has influenced the performance of the small scale enterprises. Therefore, the study of the principles, theories and practice of management should be taken very seriously in the administration of small scale enterprises.
