ABSTRACT

 This research is directed on effect of internal control on the performance of the public sector establishment, a case study of Federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry Umuahia is the subject of this research work. The Federal ministries have over the years been facing problems like poor performance, lack of internal control week cooperate governance, inaccurate reporting and non-poor internal controlling. This research work is aimed towards propelling how good internal control could be established in stores recording and disbursement in order to actualize these facts. The research used primary questionnaire administration, textbooks, journals, magazines, internet site etc. at the end, the researcher found that good internal control system would go a long way to restructure an reposition the current situation of the Federal Ministries and extra-ministerial departments. The researcher finally recommends for further research on the performance of public sector establishment in federal civil service did not give all the necessary solutions to the management control of funds and stores of the government.
