Doctor’s Appointment Management Information System:- Amaukwu Bonaventure I

ABSTRACT x Doctor’s appointment describes a medical visit. Doctor’s Appointment Management Information System helps the doctors to take appointment through internet and track their records through it. When a doctor arrives at a hospital or calls the nurses to make an appointment, some hospitals will record the appointments by using a scheduling book or a simple online appointment calendar. This is the traditional method to make an appointment, while online appointment scheduling is more popular nowadays. I was motivated to embark on this research because the hospital has been facing problems due to its paper-based appointment system. It has become difficult to manage the appointment system manually due to the increase in the number of doctor’s visitation. The system was achieved by developing a platform used for an automated doctor’s appointment management system, build a database structure used to store data, design a module that register information on health system, create a platform that help doctors to book an appointment, design a system that help nurses to search appointment history, create a platform that help to view appointment details, create a platform that is used to view doctor approval. The application was realized through the adoption of object oriented analysis and design methodology. The study adopts the use of MYSQL Database and PHP programming language. In this work, the results are obtained by designing a system using HTML as front end, PHP programming language as back end and MYSQLas the database.
