ABSTRACT

This study addresses the challenges of agricultural price fluctuations and food security in Nigeria, where rapid population growth has outpaced food supply, leading to significant market inefficiencies and price volatility. The research proposes a web-based application • designed to empower farmers by providing real-time market price information, analytical tools for trend analysis, and a platform for direct farmer-buyer connectivity. By leveraging digital technologies, the application aims to bridge the information gap, reduce dependency on middlemen, and improve farmers' income through informed decision-making. Adopting the Spiral Development Model, the system emphasizes iterative design, user-friendliness, and scalability to ensure accessibility for farmers with varying technological proficiency. The study highlights the transformative potential of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in addressing market inefficiencies, enhancing food security, and promoting equitable agricultural trade, offering a model for other regions facing similar challenges.
