ABSTRACT

Electronic funds transfer has made the transfer of funds from one point to another easier and faster as money sent can be received in few seconds over states, cities and even continents. This research project takes a critical look at the Electronic Funds Transfer System (EFTS) of the United Bank for Africa (UBA). It limits scope to only domestic/local transfers i.e. transfer made within a country, using the internet as a medium upon which the transactions are made. Using the various methods of data collection discussed in chapter three of this work, useful information were gathered and employed in the design and implementation of an Electronic Funds Transfer System which has embedded in it an advanced fraud check mechanism that works based on baiting technique of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This software was developed using Java Standard Edition. The software was tested and confirmed working.
