ABSTRACT

 With the fast progression of data exchange, it is important to protect the confidentiality of data from unauthorized users. This project proposed an application of data encryption that ran encrypt and decrypt a data provided with a password along with its algorithm. The motivation of this project is to be able to design a system that can encrypt and decrypt data, while the methodology used in the "Data Encryption Standard". The software used in this project is Netbeans IDE, and linux. This project contains detailed infonnation of the system implementation. Such detail helps to develop the application in a correct way because it has been done in step and in sequence manner. At the end of this project I was able to achieve my goal which is designing a system that can encrypt and decrypt data.
