Comparative Analysis of Small Holders Poultry Agribusinesses in Imo State.

ABSRACT

This work gives an overview of the comparative analysis of small holders poultry agribusinesses in (Imo state. Poultry investment is seeing as one of the self employed lucrative businesses when properly managed. The main objectives are to analyze the socio- economic characteristics of the investors, estimate cost and returns from the investment focusing on turkey, broiler and layer in Imo state. Survey research design was adopted for the primary and secondary data respectively. The data was analyzed using regression, descriptive statistics and F-ratio. The researcher found out that feed cost constituted the largest portion of the total production cost and suggested that feed supplements and formulation materials need to be made available to enable maximum profitability.
