ABTSRACT

Budget as defined as a predetermined statement management policy during a given period which provides a standard for comparison with the result actually achieve has its impact on the successful management of government ministry ad parastatals. This budget is the frame work of day to day operation of an organization. The study carries out an evaluation to determine if budget and budgetary control can serve as a tool for effective decision and planning in Nigeria ministries and parastatals. The study also makes recommendations for relevant budgetary practices to be adapted by Nigeria ministries and parastatals or other to realize their purpose.
