Budget And Budgetary Control As A Tool For Effective Decision Making In An Organization (A Study Of Selected Banks In Umuahia)

ABSTRACT

The Implementation of plan without well designed budget and budgetary control system is a waste of time. The inability of banks to carry out a good budget and budgetary control has resulted io mistnanagement. This study is undertaken to reveal the effect of budget and budgetary coti/rol as a tool for effective decision making in an organization. Therefore, the study aimed at cxcii,,,,u,,g I/ic effectiveness of budgeting for organizational growth. Well-consiruciecl quesu/011/ia/re iere served to 119 respondents and 109 questionnaires were analysed, which seri.'ed as a source of primary data. The data was analysed using table, simple percentage and aiialvsis of variaizce technique at 0.05 (5%) level of significance which revealed that budget and budgetary control has sigmzflcant effect on decision making of an organization and also, contribute significantly to orgammizalional growth.
