ABSTRACT

The bacteriological and physico-chemical analysis of two borehole water used by Hostel Student of M.O.U.A.0 was carried out from the two different samples collected, four (4) bacterial genera were isolated which include Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus ,Klebsiella spp and Protein spp. The total viable count obtained from Ibrahim Babangida Hostel (IBB) water sample was 2.8 x iO4cfulml while that of Grace Anaele William Hostel (GAW) water sample was 5.2 x 1 O cfu/ml. The water samples were investigated carefully also for the physiochemical qualities and there was a slight different in pH of both water samples analysed. Ibrahim Babangida Hostel (IBB) water sample had ph of 6.70 while Grace Anaele Williams Hostel (GAW) had a ph. of 6.90. Escherichia coli recorded the highest percentage occurrence of 40% while Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus spp and Kiebiella spp recorded 20% occurrence each.
