ABSTRACT Social media are interactive technologies that facilitate the creation, sharing and aggregation of content amongst virtual communities and networks. Social media refers to digital platforms that facilitate the creation, sharing, and exchange of information, ideas, and content in virtual communities and networks. Sentiment analysis is the use of natural language processing, text analysis, computational linguistics, and biometrics to systematically identify, extract, quantify and study affective states and subjective information. The problem statement of this research focus on excessive use of social media which has been linked to potential distractions, poor time management among students which delay their academic work, use of social media late at night lead to sleep deprivation, lack of sufficient sleep can affects cognitive functions, memory consolidation, and overall academic performance, excessive· use of social media has been linked to various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression. The research focuses on an automated social media posts analysis to determine public sentiment on various topics: The objectives are to develop a platform for automated social media posts analysis to determine public sentiment on various topics, build a database structure used to store data, create a module that open admin panel, design a platform that is used to create account, create a platform that is used by administrator to update personal information, design a platform that is used to display post from user, design a platform used to view user profile. The research was realized through the adoption of primary and secondary sources of data collection which includes interview, observation, the survey, questionnaire, the internet and journals. The research methodology used is spiral model. The system is implemented by using Html, PHP, JavaScript and MYSQL for the database. The results showed that the system addresses the challenges by promoting healthy social media habits, enhancing time management skills, encouraging digital wellbeing, improving sleep hygiene, addressing mental health issues, and combating cyber bullying, educators and parents can help students harness the benefits of social media while mitigating its negative effects
