ABSTRACT

 The study appraises financial reporting as a tool for corporate perfOrmance evaluation using PZ Industries Aba as a case study on the background of inconsistencies and non adherence to financial reporting sianc/circis in corporcite organizations. Primary source of data were obtained /ioin 25 responclents/roin P7 Industries through structured questionnaires and vvas carefully analyzed. Orc/inar'v least square based simple regression analytical tool was applied in testing the hypotheses on whether financial reporting sign/flea nt/v has an e/f'ci on management efficiency and also if there is a sign//leant effct of financial reporting on the financial performance of Pz industries plc. From the study it i'us /ound that financial reporting has a sign ficant effrci on management efficienc and financial performance and therefore financial reporting is significantly effective as a too/for evaluating corporate performance. The study, recommended that quality /inancicil reporting in corporate organizations be continuously improved! and s i/stained, financial information disclosure should he adequate to sustain user acceitcih i/i/i on financial performance. Also prepares of fìncincicil reports s/iou/cl be hones!. truthful and independent in their stewardship role to enhance iclicibi/iR' o/ financial reports.
