ABSTRACT 'his research is designed to determine the antibacterial and antibiofilm activity of Zapotecca ortoricensis roots, Artemisia annua leaves and Moringa oleifera seed oil. To verify the uses, of sot, leaf extracts and seed oil of these plants for medicinal purpose. They were screened for ntibiofilm, antibacterial and antioxidant effects against some isolates which includes; 'almonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Biofilm quantification and tissue ulture method was used to determine the percentage biofilm inhibition. Agar well diffusion rethod was used to check the antibacterial activity of the various plant extracts, The lowest rinimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was done using the 2,3,5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride FTC). Gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) was used to identify bioactive ompounds in these extract which include. 15.63 mg/ml was shown by Z. portoricensis and A. nnua against E. coli. Extracts of A. annua leaves gave large inhibition zone diameter of 14mm gainst S' aureus at 500 mg/ml. These extract gave high inhibition zone diameter of 12mm, 2.27mm and 14mm for M. oleifera, Z. portoricensis and A. annual respectively with % DPPH ntioxidant activity of 32.50%, 45.24% and 73.25%. Maximum FRAP antioxidant activity and ntibiofilm inhibition of extracts of M. oleifera, Z. portoricensis and A. annua observed were .02pm, 6.72pm and 0.54 pm for FRAP and 56.06%, 66.45% and 70.84% for % antibiofilm nhibition respectively. Results from this study indicate that extracts of M. oleifera, Z. portoricensis and A. annua contain bioactive compounds with possible potential as antibacterial, ntioxidant and antibiofilm agents.
