ABSTRACT

 The Analysis of Role of Women in Cocoyam Production: Implication for ~ Agricbusiness Development in Nigeria was researched into. The result j showed that women in the area studied viewed Agriculture as a major -~ means of livelihood. Cocoyam is also one of the major crops grown in  different forms. The result also showed that cocoyam production and ~ processing has not been fully utilized because of ineffective research on i genetic · improvement, plant diseases prevention,- extension services,  shortages of planting materials and post harvest storage problems. It was jal so recommended that the problems of quality and quantity production of {cocoyam should be solved by establishing Research Institutions on genetic { improvements. More production of cocoyam should be encouraged [ th rough researches into modern utilization of cocoyam on commercial {basis. Finally, post-harvest utilization of cocoyam corms should be i encouraged through modern processing technologies.
