ABSTRACT
This work focuses on Agribusiness marketing, consumer demand and value added products with emphasis on cassava, (Garri and Flour). The specific objectives include: To determine the socioeconomic characteristics of respondents involved in the marketing and consumption of value added foods in the study area. Determine the marketing performance (marketing margin, profitability, marketing efficiency and market structure) of value added products in the study area. The study employed well-structured and pre-tested questionnaires to collect data and information from respondents. Data were analyzed using tables, descriptive statistics, regression and gini coefficient to determine the market structure and profitability of value added products in the study area. Among other techniques used in the work, we observed that as gini coefficient move towards 0, the market structure tends towards a perfect market. While the market is an imperfect market as gini coefficient tends to I. Based on the results, the study observed tfat amongst other variables, age and price were statistically significant at 1% and directly related to the dependent variable (value-added) which means that as these independent variables increases. the dependent variable (value-added) also Increase.
