ABSTRACT
Literature is the principal route to attain binding force with language because literary texts have both the language and the ingredients that reflect a society. In other words, literature is language applied to mirror a society. Aristotle, Plato and Socrates and contributed immensely to knowledge- the same goes for the knowledge in the vast writings of Corneille, Moliere, Racine and Shakespeare. The eternal truths contained in their plays poems are available to us today. Literature puts men on stage to enable one see himself from a detached position. Literature is therefore a tool for auto criticism.
