A Time Series Analysis Of Internally Generated Revenue A Case Study Of Akwa Ibom State For The Period (2003 - 2007)

ABSTRACT

The data for this project was collected from the internal revenue service (IRS) (Head quaters) Uyo, Akwa state. The data covered the period of five years (2003 -2007), the results of this work will help in future prediction of internal revenue for Akwa Ibom State. The main purpose of this study is to construct a mathematical model .which could be used to predict or forecast reliable and dependable fiuture revenue figure for a state (i.e. state in study. It could also be useful to business men and firms in forecast predicting their future profits / losses when time series analysis is carried out based on their income and expenditure. This work intends to estimate and isolate the components of time series, namely trend, seasonal variations, cyclical variations and irregular variations present in the data using the descriptive time series approach.
