A Statistical Analysis of Response of Various Sizes of Minisett oo Intercropping In Yam/Maize Intercrop

ABSTRACT
Majority of farmers in the society practices intercroppingsystem of farming. This analysis is to help the farmer to improve in yield when utilizing any available land for agricultural purpose example Yam/Maize intercrop. A secondary data collected from Department of Farming System Research (FSR) in National Root Crop Research Institution Umudike (N. RCRI).to know th rspons of various sizes of minisetts to intercropping pressure in Yam/Maize intercrop. The estimates of the sizes of minisetts and different varieties of yam were calculated, also there were test of significant from the analysis of variance. Multiply comparison was carried out to sharpen the result. From the analysis, the sizes of yam minisetts and varieties of yam were found to be significant. But after multiple comparison, it shows that sizes: 50g, 75g, lOOg and 125g are found to be better with variety one V. D. ALATA (Umu68O) than others when intercropped with maize.
