Education has
remained a key factor and bedrock for development and sustenance of literacy.
self-actualization. lifelong learning and over-all development of · individuals
and nations. The library is a major instrument in the actualization of the
goals of education. through the provision of adequate resources and effective
services that enable individuals develop their full potentials. widen their
horizons of perception. interests. attitude. character, understand social
values and improve their knowledge and skills, which are germane for national
development. Libraries through their informative. educational, recreational
roles are responsible for transformation of individuals, nations and
particularly, the educational landscape of any nation. University libraries
provide quality services and resources that enhance education. research.
teaching and learning activities; and also encourage wholesome recreation and constructive
use of leisure time.
