Fish is source nutrition providing important amount for dietary protein and lipid in nianv countries ( I3ounga el cii. 2010). Compared with red meat. is easily ditible ( Pirestani L'f cii.. 2010). It is well known  its nutritional value ol' protein with  I am no acids. these marine natural products especially fish lipids are know to the l a pre eat lug attack I rum coronary heart diseases (Cl-ID). cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure. gout and other diseases that are associated with consumption on o loods of cholesterol (Jakhar ci al., 2012).Fish is the cheapest source of animal puttee n consLimed by the average Nigerian. accounting for about 40 percent of the total protein production in the country is mainly from the capture sector especially arlisanal coastal and art sanal in land fisheries. Ihis sector contributes over eighty percent of total domes Ic production of some 51 Q 000 tonnes per annum ( FDF. 2004). Nigeria imports 700 000 u macs  per annum and an annual deficit of almost half a million tonnes still exists il the  bridged. thus. consequent upon over-exploitation of the marine fisheries resources hid has resulted in gradual depletion of the stock, there is now concerted  a harness the nation's freshwater resources through aquaculture to boost fish production.
