Time Series Analysis of the monthly sales· volume of Nigerian Bottling Company's Product "Coke A Case Study Nigerian Bottling Company Plc Umuahia Depot Km 3 Okigwe Road Umuahia Abia State
ABSTRACT
The desire to carry out this research work was
motivated by the inherent ;easonal variation in the sales of product of
bottling companies. The objective is to identify the model that suits the
series and forecast future 3ales. A secondary data was collected on monthly
sales of Coke from 2003 I 'o 2010 from Nigerian Bottling Company. Box Jekins
method of time series analysis was applied using a statistical software
Minitab. ARIMA 211 was found to suit the data after chi square test of model
adequate has been ~sed to confirm the model. A 24 months forecast was made and
it was observed that the sales of the product (Coke) is declining. The company
Nas advice to rebrand and advertise the product.
