ABSTRACT

The aim of this research work is to study the rote 01 e- banking on financial transaction in Nigeria, a tool for a cash free society. The problem of robbery, social unrest and underdevelopment has caused some economic loss on the Nigerian financial system and the economy at large as funds (money) cannot be moved between locations for purpose of financial transaction. This has led the researcher to e- bank on this research work. This research worte was designed to study the role of e- banking on financial transaction in Nigeria, a tool for a cash free society. The objectives of this study are: To offer suggestions based on the findings of this research work, how e banking can minimize the problem of cash transaction, to examine how the automation of the banking industry will improve its services to tts customers, to determine the extent to which e- banking will lead to a cash free society and to make recommendation based on the findings. Literature works of other scholars were reviewed to derive the basis for this research work. Quantitative and qualitative data were used to establish if e-banking will improve customer service delivery in Nigeria and if it could lead to a cash free society. A total of 15 questionnaires  containing 12 structured questions were administered and the same number was returned. The sampling technique employed was the stratified sampling method. The Chi-square was used to test for hypothesis. The findings of this work are that e-banking can improve customer" service delivery; the full automation of the banking industry will lead to a cash society. Also educating the public on the benefits of e-banking will improve the use of e-banking products in Nigeria. The research therefore recommends that banks in Nigeria should fully automate their operations to enable them render quality service to their customers and also the need to educate the public through the media on e-banking services.
