ABSTRACT

The effect of raw Mucuna extract was investigated using 30 Anak broiler birds. Normal saline was used in the preparation Of the extract. The concentration of the extract was found to be 200mg/mi. The birds were randomly assigned to five groups with six birds in each group. The different groups were drenched with doses ranging from 3500mg/kg, 4000mg/kg, 4500mg/kg, and 5000mg/kg respectively with the control. After drenching the bird they were observed for 24 hours. Results showed a number of effects ranging from restlessness, dizziness, diarrheic droppings and reduction in feed cons timed by the birds. But no mortality was recorded at the end of the experiment.
