ABSTRACT

This  Research  work  Stock  Control  and  Performance   of a Manufacturing Industry,    a case  study  of Paterson  Zochonis   Industries    Nigeria  Pie.   Was designed   to  evaluate   the  problems   associated   with  stock  control   in   PZ Nigeria  Pie. Which  can also  be applied  to other  Manufacturing   Industries. The  study  went  further  to define  the  objectives   of stock  control  which   is to  oetermine   the   relationship    between   stock   control   and  the   level  of productivity   and profitability   of the firm.  The  information   in this work  were collected  both from  primary  and secondary   data which  includes  personal interviews,   questionnaires.   the Company's   Financial  Statement,  Journals and   Magazines   etc.   respectively.     This  datas  collected   were  analysed, using both    descriptive     statistics,     simple    regression     analysis    and Pearson's    product    moment    correlation.        The    descriptive     statistics includes     percentages,    frequency     counts    etc.   and   then   the   simple regression analysis    has   to   do   with   the   relationship     between    two variables,  dependent  and independent.     Datas  collected  were  presented and  analysed   and  the  following   results  or findings  were  made,   that  the research disclosed   that   efficient   stock   control   enhances   the   level   of productivity of  firms   in  Nigeria.   The   researcher    also   discovered    that organizations that   practices   efficient   stock   control   techniques    always experience   increase  in the  number  of their  customers   which  also  leads to increase  in their turnover.  The researcher   recommends   that corporate firms  should  adopt  an efficient  stock  control  measures   that  is peculiar  to their  firm  and so on and the  researcher   concluded   that  stock  control  is a very important    function,    because    the   success    and   failure    of   any organization depends  on the efficiency  of their stock  control  technique.
