ABSTRACT
This study is
aimed at solving for the roots of quadratic, cubic and quartic equations in a
field when the equations have real coeffcicnt». The problem of finding the roots
of polynomial equatio s, with real coefficients of the form ax + as-1X- +...+
agx? + aix + ao = 0 is an advanced problem, we therefore focus o 1 quartic
equation.A technique of obtaining the roots of a quanic equation using the
Ferrari's method different from the well-l:n w factorization is presented.
Formulae for the four roots of quan ic ·quations are derived.
