ABSTRACT
In this present Research work, the
phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals ofdialium guineense, dennetia tripetala
and artocarpus heterophyllus were determined using quantitative and various
methods, HCN has the highest content in the diallium and artocarpus fruit with
values 4. 74±0.03 and 3.81±0.0 I mg/ I 00g, the effect of the cyanate in the
plant is that it stops ATP formation in the body and releases organic phosphate
to the body tissue. Tanin was also high in the dennetia fruit which read
2.18±0.00mg/l00g and the effect of the taninis that it has anti inflammatory
properties and also hasten healing of wound. Vitamin C occurred low in the
artocarpus fruit but very high in Diulium and Dennetia fruits of values
27.13±0.45 and 5.78±0.03high intake of these fruits increase the vitamin C
level in the body. which promotes growth, resistance to disease and delays
ageing.ln the mineral evaluation, pottasium was the most abundant in the three
fruits of values (428.61±0.0l,85.76±0.00,168.76±0.02mg/100g). Therefore high
consumption of these fruits increases pottasium in d body and pottasium helps
to maintain body weight and regulate water and electrolyte balance in the blood
and tissue.
