ABSTRACT
A 28 day feeding trial involving one hundred and fifty day old Anak 2000 broiler chicks in a completely randomized design was carried out to determining e the performance of broiler starters fed various treated or untreated rice milling waste at 20% inclusion level. Parameters measured were daily weight gain, final live weight of birds, feed conversion ratio, feed intake, protein intake, protein efficiency ratio and cost benefit analysis. The result showed that there is no significant difference (P>0.05) in daily weight gain, final like weight of birds, feed conversion ratio, protein efficiency ratio and cost benefit analysis, while significant difference (P<0.05) was observed in feed intake and protein intake. It was concluded that broiler starters can be fed urea treated rice milling waste constituting up to 20% of the whole ration without any adverse effect on the performance of the broilers. This will also reduce feed cost.
