ABSTRACT

This study examines the investigation of mechanical properties on the hybridization of natural fiber of aloe-vera and banana fiber with epoxy resin as matrix. Using a matting fiber orientation to investigate the mechanical properties of tensile strength, impact and flexural properties of the sample produces through the process of hand lay-up technique. The test was done according to their respective ASTM standard for testing. For tensile strength testing the standard was ASTMD3039 was used to examines the specimen test and for flexural ASMT-D790 was used to examines the specimen for impact test ASTM-D256 was used for the specimen sample to be tested. It was observed that tensile strength will increase significantly because ofthe physical properties which aloe-vera and banana fiber possess, impact properties was also improved because ofthe cellulose context of the natural fibers combination and it was also determine that the epoxy resin and hardener used also contributed to the improvement ofvarious mechanical properties. This is to say that the hybridization ofnatural fibers composite contribute greatly in solving engineering problem of reduced weight and high stren
