Influence of Teacher Education on the Academic Performance of Pre-Primary Pupils in Abia Education Zone of Abia State:- Uzoka, R. N
ABSTARCT
The study
investigated the import of teacher education on pre-primary education The study
used two hypotheses. Sample consisted of 68 pupils from six public and piivate
owned pre-primary schools in Aba education Zone A questionnaire consisting of
three parts, pupils’ general academic performance over a period of lime and
interview weic used for the study. Instruments were duly validated and tested
for reliability tlesl was used to analyze the two hypotheses. The findings of
the study revealed the essence of having professionals in the area of
pre-primary education teaching the pupils The pupils in the privately owned
schools performed better than those, in the public schools The implication for
counseling and conclusion was drawn from the findings
