Impact Of Computerized Accounting System On Manufacturing Firms (A Case Study Of Nigerian Bottling Company Aba)
ABSTRACT
Within the last three
decades, there has been a tremendous growth in the use of computers in various
organizations in the country. This research work examines the impact of computerized
accounting system on manufacturing firms. The 'i'' is to create awareness on
the use of computer in the accounting system and their benefit. The population
for this study include the entire accounting staff and computer staff of
Nigerian Bottling Company Plc. Out of which a sample of 50 questionnaire were
administered and 30 were retrieve and chi-squared test used as a major
statistical tool in measuring the significance of the result upon analysing,
the research question and testing the hypotheses, the fmding was that the
application of computer in the accounting system of Nigerian Bottling company
plc, has significantly improved the operational efficiency of the company in
term of speed, accuracy, and cost. Based on these findings, it was discovered
that the company lack computer engineer who service have impaired the
accounting unit. In view of the above conclusion, the researcher made
recommendations that computer engineer should be employed so that the company
will have better result in the accounting unit and also curtail cost of
maintenance which will intum enhance productivity.
