ABSTRACT

The broad objective of the study was to determine and analyze the effect of Agricultural intensification on crop production in ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State. Four out of the twenty-eight communities in the study area were selected through simple random sampling technique. A total of sixty structured questionnaire were administered. Percentages were used to analyze the data The results showed that fallow period, labour, farm size, distance from the farm, expenditure on inorganic fertilizer, mixed farming and cropping period affected agricultural intensification in kwuano Local Government Area. The study therefore recommends that extension services, credit facilities and favourable price policy as well as rural infrastructural facilities should be provided for the farmers as means of increasinci crop production and profitability.
