ABSTRACT

 

This study focused on the evaluation of the effect of employee's relations on organizational performance with a particular reference to Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC). The specific objective of the study were to examine the impact of poor employees relations on organizational productivity, to investigate the effect of employee motivation on organizational performance, to find out the solutions to the problem of poor employees relations in EEDC. Data for this project was collected using a stratified sampling technique and the sampling size of the population was derived using Taro Yamane 's formula which gave a sample size of 150. Data was collected with a well-structured questionnaire and was analyzed using percentage technique and Pearson correlation method at 0.05 level of significance was used to test for hypothesis with the aid of Statistical packages for social sciences (version 22) .. Among the major findings of study is that employees relations have significant and positive impact on organizational productivity (r = 0. 71 I; p<O. 05). The study further revealed that there is positive relationship between employee motivation and organizational performance(R = 0.749; p<0.5), the study also showed that there are possible solutions to the problem of poor employees relations in EEDC (r =0.892; p <0.05), Finally the study revealed that there are challenges that affects employees relation in organization (r =0.870; p< 0. 05). The study recommended that organizations should provide conducive working environment for employees and payment of salary and incentives as at when due.
