ABSTRACT
The
advent of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) bas revolutionized
the way people and institutions function. It has led to tremendous changes in
the way libraries function and offer services to users. With the introduction
of ICT, libraries now use various types of technologies to provdeinformation
resources and services to users. The impact of new technologies is felt by
libraries in every aspect and that is why most current information resources
arc found in electronic formats. This is orchestrated by the demand of the
digital era and the change in information seeking behavior of users. The new
generation of users prefers online/electronic resources as they want all
information at the elicit of mouse.The use of electronic information resources
and services in libraries is therefore not only a choice but inevitable in the
era of information technology. The application of information technology in the
provision of electronic information resources and services has made
great impact ''in the technology field, which has improved the services of
libraries significantly'' (Manjack, Dangani & Fari, 2019)
