ABSTRACT
This study
determines the effect of value addition practices on the consumption of meat
products in restaurants. The study was carried out in Ikwuano local government
of Abia state. A descriptive survey design was used in the study with a total
population of 135 respondents. Simple random technique was used where 120
represents the sample size. A well validated questionnaire was used to elicit
information from the respondents. The instrument was reliable, indicating the
reliability of the instrument using Test-retest method. Mean, frequency
percentage, regression and probit analysis were used in analyzing the data
obtained. Findings from the study show that respondents in the study practice
value addition. One of the recommendations made was Agribusiness operators and
other members of the society should be educated through seminars and workshops
on the importance of Agribusiness as a tool for poverty reduction, employment,
creation and economic development .
