Effect Of Taxation On Business Financing And Growth In Manufacturing Sector (A Study Of Two Manufacturing Companies In Umuahia)
ABSTRACT
The study investigated on effect of taxation on business financing and growth in
manufacturing firms. The major objectives of the study are to examine effect of
taxation on growth of manufacturing firms in Nigeria, to examine effect of taxation
on the profitability of manufacturing firms in Nigeria, to ascertain effect of
taxation on the return on capital employed of manufacturing firms in Nigeria. To
achieve the objectives of the study, expost facto research design was adopted. The
researcher adopted secondary data in getting the required information. In testing
the hypotheses, regression analysis was used. The findings revealed that Taxation
has a sign flcant effect on growth of manufacturing firm. The findings further
revealed that taxation tax has a signficant effect on earnings of manufacturing
firm. The researcher recommends that manufacturing companies should employ
the services of tax experts to aid them in tax planning in other to reduce the net tax
payment so as to increase their financial performance. The researcher also
recommends that again they should increase their asset size and ensure efficient
use of those assets to reflect in the production turnover of the companies.
