ABSTRACT
Most people of different habits and cultures like flowers. Flowers
are generally used to express human sentiments and to beautify the environment.
(Edmond et ai 1 990). 'The environment has generally been subjected to severe
degradation due to man's activities and some natural disasters. However, Edmond
et aJ (1 990) observed that people are slowly realizing the damages that have
been inflicted on our environment. The modern man with his high technology and
knowledge can reclaim and reconstruct his degraded environment and transform
his environment into an earthly paradise. He can do this through the ,'enable
management of the environment especially with floriculture and aesthetic
landscape design . The field of landscape design is increasing, importance is the effort to preserve. and protect the environment.
Although landscape is ever changing, it is alive because it consists of living
--plants --- trees, shrubs, and fovea. (Edmond et al; 1 990). The role of
floricultural plants in the development of a useful and beautiful environment
is therefore, of prime importance. According to Clarke (I 992), trees and shrubs
provide the frame for the garden picture, and climbers are the walls on which
the picture hangs
