Effect Of Inflation On The Financial Statements Of Organizations In Nigeria (A Study Of Nigeria Breweries Aba, Abia State)
ABSTRACT
The study investigated the Effect of Inflation on the
Financial Statements of Organizations in Nigeria. The major objectives of the
study are to examine the effect of inflation on the financial of an
organization, to assess the effect of inflation on the operational activities
and to examine the techniques used in the accounting for inflation of the
financial statements of an organization. To achieve the objectives of the
study, survey research design was adopted. The researcher adopted primary and
secondary data in getting the required information. In testing the hypothesis
Regression Analysis was used. The findings in chapter four reviewed that
inflation affects the financial report of an organization. The findings also
reviewed that inflation affects the activities of manufacturing companies but
the techniques used in the accounting for inflation has no significant impact
on the financial statement of an organization. Researcher recommends that
organization should take into consideration the possibility of inflation when
preparing their financial statements and when fixing the prices of their products
to avoid loss on production and the illusion of financial statements and to
provide more relevant information to financial statement users in order to
improve the quality of information provided.
