Effect Of Financial Reporting On Stock Market Price In Nigeria (A Study Of Sterling Bank Nigeria Plc)
ABSTRACT
This study examines the effect offinancial reporting on stock market price in Nigeria, a study of
sterling Bank Nigeria Plc. In the course of acquiring adequate information may be directed into
Wrong organisation for financial Statements and stock Market Prices. The study hence seeks to
determine the reiationship between per share, stock market price and share market price. The
date on the variable was obtained through a five years financial report from 2011 to 2015
financial year. Also, data generated for this study were analyzed using simple regression. My
Findings revealed that share market price (SMP) is positively affected by earning per share
(EPS) dividend per share (DPS), profit after tax (PAT) and share market price (SMP).Based on
the above; it was recommended that investors should strengthen their knowledge and
understanding of their investment through stock exchange market and advice fron stock brokers.
And understanding the component of the annual reports as a better understanding would lead to
better profitable investment.
