ABSTRACT

Financial  management   has  acquired  importance   in   recent  times  in   the business  world  ,   due  to  its  continued   evolution   and  rapid  increase   in business activities. This research topic, "The effect of financial  leverage on company  performance.  A case study of UAC Nigeria  Pie tries to examine the  possible  -effect  of  financial   leverage   on  performance   of  UAC  Nig Pie.The study  discovered  that  the  use of debt financing  (both  short term and long term) increases the·profit   of the company,  also, that sale increase the  profit  of the  company.  While  on the  other  hand  interest  rate  has  a negative  relationship  with  the  company  profit  i.e.  the  higher  the  rate the lower  the  profit  and  vice  vise.  In  order  to  enjoy  full  benefit  of financial leverage  firm  should  keep  their  leverage  ratio  moderate  (not  more  than 50% ),  debt element should be employed gradually not abruptly
