Effect Of Dividend Policy On The Growth Of Commercial Banks In Nigeria (The Study Of Uba, Eco Bank, And Gtb Bank)
ABSTRACT
The major objective of the study was to ascertain the effect of dividend policy on commercial banks growth in Nigeria. Data for the study were extracted from annual report and accounts of three quoted commercial banks in Nigeria from 2008 to 2017. These data were subjected to regression analysis, using e-view software anJ the findings indicated that earning per share has a significant positive effect on commercial banks growth, dividend payout ratio also had an insignificant positive effect on commercial banks growth while the effect of dividend per share was negative and insignificant. It was recommended among other things that banks should ensure that they have a good and robust dividend policy in place because it will enhance their profitability and attract investments.
