ABSTRACT
The study
ofthis research is how Demography and the population statistics can be used as
tools towards the development ofNigeria economy which will also help to locate
and identify, scarce resources by states, age and sex distribution in the
country. The study shows the projected population distribution ofsecondary
schools population in Awka by sex with its analysis. The data used was
collected from the department ofstatistics in the state education commission
headquarters Awka from 2000/2001 to 2010/2011 academic session. Information
from this work will help the ■ government to identify the needs of its citizen
and growth ofthe economy
