Corporate Social Responsibility And Financial Performance Of Banks In Nigeria:- Akwataghibe Gloria C.
ABSTRACT
The study
examined the effect of corporate social responsibility and financial
performance of banks in Nigeria. To achieve the objective of the study ex-post
facto research design was adopted. The study revealed that social cost and
organizational performance of banks have significant effect on return on equity
of banks while social cost has no significant effect on the return of equity of
banks in Nigeria. Finally the study shows that corporate social responsibility
has a significant effect on organizational performance of banks in Nigeria.the
study concludes that social cost has a significant effect on return of assets
of banks in Nigeria. The study
recommends that management of companies should be proactive in their approach
to social responsibility issues in other to avoid business distraction from
their host communities.
