ABSTRACT

A leakage detection system is a system, constructed lor detecting a leak through a closed valve installed between upsticam pipes and downslieam pipes of an industiial piocess I he liquid leakage detec-lor system is electionic safety equipment that detects the piesence ol liquid outside the pipe and triggers an alarm to indicate liquid leakage and at the same time signals safety pcisonncl to take immediate action tn older to save the situation An inscrtablc plate is coupled to the valve in the pipe in line with the fluid llow A sensor is also coupled to the llow and provides a signature output in the I’oim ol an alarm A leak detector is coupled to detect (he leak through the valve based upon the signatuic output (an alarm). The construction ol' the system involves the use of the following components, a transistor as a switch, logic gate in form of 1C, diodes, and resistors and so on Over the years there had been recurrent issues of huge amount of losses both in domestic and industrial sectors of our economy traceable to undetected leakages of liquid assets ranging from relatively negligible to astonishing quantities The ciucial need to eliminate such losses paved way for the search, discovery and the invention ol the liquid leakage detector system. The performance of the liquid leakage detector system is based on the electrical conductivity of liquids. A liquid can cither be conductive (usually polar) or non-conduclivc • (usually non-polar). Whichever is the case, will be converted to binary form zero when nonconduclive and one when conductive.
